She’s On a Plane (Yeah, Me.)
So I’m on a plane right now. I don’t really have much to do, so I figured, hey, why not write a blog post. It’s a little difficult considering we’re experiencing a good amount of turbulence at the moment and my laptop is moving around a bit, but it’s all part of the adventure and I don’t have any complaints.
This is my first trip across the country, and in fact, it’s my first time flying. That being said, I absolutely LOVE it. Some people don’t like flying and dread it. It’s something they do when they have to get some place and don’t have another means of transportation, but I’ve quickly discovered that I’m not one of those people. Flying is freaking awesome.
During the initial take off, I had the biggest grin on my face. The burst of speed that the plane took as we lifted off the ground was amazing and gave me such a rush.
When we got in the air, I looked out the window (because of course I had to have a window seat for my first flight) and said to my mom, “Okay next thing I want to try is skydiving.” She just looked at me silently, recognizing that I may sound like I was kidding but I was probably serious. When I get an idea, I usually follow through. (So, who wants to go skydiving with me?
The plane won’t land for a little while yet. I’ve pigged out on my share of Reeses Pieces at this point, since we’ve already been flying 4 hours. I watched The Tourist too, which turned out to be pretty good. My laptop claims to have about 5 hours worth of charge left, but we’ll see, because the little battery icon is showing less than half full so it could be lying. Either way, I still have my iPhone which is currently keeping me company with “Rolling in the Deep” playing on my ears.
I should probably mention where I’m headed, right? My destination is San Diego, California, and I’m going to be speaking at the American Horse Publications seminar tomorrow several times. (Big thanks to Karisa at Troxel Helmets who referred me.) Events like this are so in my element; I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people who share a common interest in horses and business. I get so much energy when it comes to conversing with others who are inspired by the lives that they live. I was so excited, that even though I may be an adult, I have to confess to practically skipping out of the house this morning before we left. I couldn’t wait to get in the car and drive to the airport. I can’t wait to see San Diego. I can’t wait to speak. I can’t wait to see the friends I’ve been talking to online for months. I can’t wait for the awesomeness that is going to go down in the next 48 hours.
(Hold that thought while I do a mini happy dance in seat 13A on the plane.)
(Okay, that was fun.)
By the time you read this, I’ll be on the ground, but I decided to make you a little video from the plane so you could share in my experience.
This will be the first video of many, as I’m sure several others will follow during this trip. Enjoy!
